- When I was growing up twitter was a social media site I always visited. When I got to college I did not use twitter anymore and deleted the app. Now that I have been using twitter in this class I see that it can be a very useful took. In this class I interact with other students taking this course and I follow many different accounts that have to do with teaching and technology in the classroom. I have enjoyed using twitter for this reason and it is even teaching me new things. In my future career I am going to follow different accounts that have to do with my grade level that I teach and other informational accounts. This will help me apply different aspects of education to my classroom.
- Digital divide means the gulf between people who have ready access to computers and the internet, and those who do not. The student that do not have computers in their home might struggle more than other students. This is because studying and accessing in class work has a lot to do with the internet. The students without their own laptops have to go the extra mile to go to the library to study and get the information they need. This advantage for students may hurt students in the classroom. I will make sure that I give students time in class to complete all of their work so they do not get caught behind.
- Academic software for students is very necessary especially within this time period. Technology is very advanced and in many ways it is helpful for teachers and students. Two software tools that I will use most likely every day in the classroom include power point and Microsoft word. I will use power points to teach the lessons and have the students come up and click on thing and engage. I will also use word to create my lesson plans and to contact students parents as well.
